Family Heirlooms

During every show where Art Dump Photos participates, I get into a discussion of how I use Artificial Intelligence software to restore damaged vintage photographs. Frequently, I am asked if I offer a restoration service for customers’ old photos.  The individual will say that they have an old family photograph that has seen better times and they would love to have it restored, and perhaps make copies of it for other members of the family.

I have hesitated in the past but now that I have the main Art Dump Photos business set up, I am pleased to announce that service.  Here is an example of a friend’s photo that I recently restored – the Before and After, though not marked as such, is pretty obvious.

Unfortunately, I cannot make these people more attractive in the restoration process.

Here is the process to follow if you are interested in having an old photograph restored.

1. Take a photo of the picture and save it as a .jpg file. This should be automatic if using an iPhone or other smartphone.

2. Send the .jpg file (largest option possible) to

ArtDumpPhotos@outlook.com

with the word HEIRLOOM in the Subject line.

3. After I receive your photo, I will examine it and provide you with an estimate for the restoration. At this time, I am guessing that most jobs will be 2 hours at $25/hour.

4. If you agree with the estimate, let me know and I will restore your photo and send you a watermarked copy of the restoration. If you do not like the results, you pay nothing.

5. If after reviewing the restored photo and paying the charges via Venmo, I will send you a copy of the restored photo without the watermark.

6. After payment I will also provide you with prices of various forms of reproducing this photo, be it standard photographic prints, or larger canvas, acrylic or metallic copies. There will be no obligation for you to purchase.

We look forward to providing this service to all of our Art Dump Photos friends.
